I think it would be more reliable to call a police department to ask if you have any warrants; in the court I work in, we have no idea what warrants you may have in other counties, just in this one, so we always refer you to law enforcement, since they’re the ones with access to statewide computer systems.
I could be wrong abut this, it could depend on the state.
The information from the courthouse SHOULD be reliable. However, I have never heard of ANY court that would run a check for FREE. That causes me to doubt anything they allegedly said on a phone call.
