Confidential family court records in California? Need a copy (I’m a plaintiff).?
Hi
I am a plaintiff to a confidential family court case in California. The court will not issue me a copy despite me sending in copies of my drivers license. The courthouse a county over did so with just a fax of my license and a credit card!
The other county said I must come in. I am, however, 3,000 miles from this court location and I needed a copy for my records! The clerk offered no other information on how to obtain records. She even was rude! I know even to get a birth or death record you get something notarized, but it can be obtained. Does this work for county family court records as well? There is no way I can fly out to get them.
I think this is a little kooky. I’m a plaintiff who needs her own court records!
Does anyone have a solution, suggestion, or answer?
I did it myself, no attorney

Actually, this is pretty easy to solve. Your attorney can get this for you. Your attorney should be able to have a firm that they associate with just pick up the file. You will have to sign an agreement for that particular action, but yes, it can be done.
