OK, here’s the deal. I got pulled over by the police and was given two seperate tickets, the first one was for no proof of insurance and failure to change my address. The second was for running a red light. Well, when I got home, I noticed that the police officer had given me both copies of the ticket for the red light. So I called the court and there is no record of this ticket being issued. Now, what is my legal obligation? They tell me there’s no ticket in the system, just the no insurance one. Does that mean I’m off the hook or is this gonna come back and bite me? Like I said, I called the court, gave them my driver’s license number and they looked up and only found the one ticket.
How can I pay something they don’t have a record of? Any cops out there that can answer this??
You don’t understand, I DID call the court house, twice. NO record of this second ticket. I figured that they wouldn’t because the cop gave me both copies (his and mine). He was a really nice cop, he told me if I got the other stuff straightened out, he was willing to drop the other stuff and he told me he would help me in court. Now what? Should I contact the cop directly? What if this was his way of helping me?

If they want the money, they will send you a reminder. If don’t pay then, you might get visitors.
Call the court house and BE SURE YOU ARE NOT ON FILE TO OWE PAYMENT. If you are and dont pay, they may yonk your license or even put out some type of arrest warrant.
Pull your driving record. Running a red light is a moving violation, if you have one it will be on there.
