		<description>The charges stay on your record but the record will also say what your conviction is and that the charge was dismissed.  My husband was mistaken for someone else and was picked up and charged with assault years ago.  He was not convicted but the charge remains on his record as dismissed.  He had to write an explanation of it when getting his license to deal gambling games.  He was still hired.  When you apply for a job that does a background check just explain this.  The place I used to work could not even accept the lesser charge because it was with vulnerable adults but places like a casino might.
So the original charge stays on as a charge as far as I know.  I am not a lawyer and don&#039;t know anything other than what we have experienced.  I wish you serenity</description>
