I have a felony arrest and have not been convicted of anything yet. But everybody does a background check on you and they see that i was arrested a few months ago.

Just try all of them. Explain the situation in the interview, if they ask. You may want to get into school and get some kind of certification, so that you’ll have something under your belt. It is hard with a felony. My hubby has the HARDEST time finding one, and he was convicted 7 years ago…

Well, unfortunately a lot of jobs do the background checks. Same thing with housing (like renting a home). There is not a whole lot you can do to get around the situation, other than having the charges dropped. However, on the application, they will ask you if you’ve ever been convicted of a felon. You should always answer the question with an explanation. I have heard numerous stories (and some first-hand) of jobs hiring those who have been arrested for a felony.

It all boils down to how you approach and react to the situation. If you seem like a shady liar, they won’t hire you. However, if you are are honest and truthful, you stand a much better chance of landing the job. Good luck!
