In my boyfriend’s custody case I discovered that they ordered his medical records…this happened in 2003. Should I be worried? Why would they do this?
My boyfriend has a ten year old daughter and he has been divorced and in court over her for ten years… I snooped in the public case records and saw that they ordered his medical records. Why did he not order hers?

This is normal in a custody case – the court will order medical records to determine if there is anything in the medical records rejudicial to the parent having custody, such as a history of mental disturbance or etc.
It would help if you said more about the case. Is this your boyfriend’s parents fighting over custody, or you and your boyfriend fighting over children you have together, or what?
Medical records are generally ordered to see if the subject (I presume that would be your boyfriend) has been subject to physical abuse, or to see if the subject has been treated for any kind of psychological problem. Without knowing more about the case, I can’t think of any other reason to seek medical records.
Why would YOU be worried? You aren’t married to this man, so what is your reason for worry? The D.A. usually handles things & gets records as standard procedure to confirm or deny an allegation that someone has made or a concern regarding the health & safety of the child in question & the parent in question. These are public record & you can view all of them by going to the courthouse & asking to see them. It is free to view at the window, but copies will cost you. All you need is a valid photo ID to view them. Why not get ALL of the facts, rather than just a few pages that he has lying around. If you can’t talk to him about it, perhaps that’s why he already has one "ex"!
The court has the right to order medical records if it is needed for the proper administration of justice in a case.
Her attorney probably requested it and not his, but it’s done to try and prove a parent may not be fit to have custody. Things like mental problems. Really it’s used as an attack plan.
