Why do you need to get one of your names off the property record? You could go to the register of deeds and see if they could put it in one person's name but you could run into problems if that person dies because the remaining spouse's name is not on the property. So it goes to that deceased person's estate. If both names are on the loan against the property then it will probably have to stay in both names until the loan is paid off.

The loan is a public record. The legal description of the property is a part of that as are the signatures.

No; unless you create a corporation and deed the property to that; and odds are there will still be a paper trail

umm ... you have to think about such things BEFORE you buy the property and get a loan, not afterward.

Now, it can't be done without 'selling' the property to a corporation and getting a new loan. the corporation would borrow the money in its name with your guarantees. Yes, this costs more in interest. Yes, you'd have to go to some lengths to hide your ownership of the corporation. Yes, there are other costs involved that you'd have to carry.

all of these drawbacks are why almost no one does it.

In India,

It is possible only if your partner is a spouse or parent or son. No stranger can be a co-borrower for home loan without the title in the property.
