I am applying for my local police department and you can not have a felony on your record. I have never been convicted of a felony but I was arrested for a felony bad check and pled down to misdemeanor bad check. However, it is showing up on my criminal history record as a felony. What can i do to get it removed and if I do get it removed will the polic department which I am applying for be able to find it?

i got arrested for shoplifting at khols in salem nh, whats gonna happen to me. this is my first offense ever.

i live in fl, i was arrested for the possession of marijuana when i was 12 (i know, please don’t lecture me). i got it expunged, and it was only a misdemeanor
i want to be a real estate agent, so with an arrest record, can i still go to college and become a real estate agent? if not, what else can i not do with an arrest record?

I was arrested as a juvenile and charged with 3 offenses in Virginia. I currently work as a police auxiliary which is a student position at my university. The Lt. here at my job advised me that I had an arrest record and that I should expunge it. How do I do this if I was not arrested again after the fact. Do I take it up with Virginia? Or Maryland which is my home state? I am planning on applying as an officer and I know I will disclose the information either way but I have been told that an expungement looks better

for example I was arrested and know that it will be there…..i took a plea bargain that allow my offense to not appear in my criminal history making it so a job cannot see what I have been convicted…

but I do have an arrest and not sure how that works??

I got arrested for an felony assault but I didn’t get charged with it or convicted with it because it was self defense and in my state they don’t have a self defense in my state. Due to being arrested I lost my job and now I am filing for unemployment and I need another job. I was just wondering since that arrest in on my record will jobs deny me.

My roommate at the time, broke into a neighboring apartment and stole many items. When police arrived, My roommate and I were both taken into custody, for Burglary. I was shortly released, with no paperwork, or court date of any kind. 3 or 4 months later, I began to start the process of enlisting in the U.S. Army, when I was turned away because of this arrest. On my background check, It shows that I was arrested for Felony Burglary but under result it says Charges Not Filed. So, mainly I need to know How to get this removed from my record, and whether or not this will affect my enlistment?

im currently 22 (nearly 23)
when I was 17 I was arrested for 2 felonies and 3 misdemeanors

the charges were: 1. Terroristic threats (F) 2.possession of a firearm while in commission of a crime(F)
3. possession of a firearm by a minor(M) 4 possession of alcohol by a minor(M) and there was one more charge that I cannot recall

I was arrested but all charges were dropped, and I was never even indicted.
the case was filed under a legal term called do not prosecute.(do not recall the exact legal definition)

I was never convicted or formally charged, but a criminal background check will show an arrest record and that it was not prosecuted.

I would like to become a Fireman, however this may ruin my chances. I would love if the case was expunged.
I have made many accomplishments since the incident and it seems like such a long time ago. All charges were dropped and was never honestly guilty of 3 of the 5 charges. I just got lucky that the district attorney did not prosecute for the charges I was truly guilty on. Basically the victim finally admitted on record that I never made any threats or threated to cause harm in anyway.
I know your criminal records erase after age 18, but I was arrested as an adult
since the incident I have:
1. been employed with same company for 5 years (promoted 2 times)
2. served as a positive mentor to middle school Kids (once a week) a couple of years ago
3. Completely stayed out of trouble including traffic Violations

over the next couple of months if this is possible im going to research and find a way to get an expugement without a lawyer. I know its recommended, but this will probably cost me $2000-$2500 if I get a lawyer. It will probably cost $200-$300 in fees to do this alone.
i have nearly no doubt that a Fire dept where I apply will find these records unless I have them expunged. Most depts in my area a VERY selective on who they hire, and it so competitve that I am going to apply at a tech school nearby and become EMT certified and get a degree in Paramedic Technology, Just to apply as a firefighter. last time I applied there were 500 applicants for 22-26 positions.

cops called never went to court want to see if went on my criminal record

I dont need any harassment, yeah i screwed up and now im paying for it, its not the end of the world. Just let me know what to expect
