In the San francisco (Calif) Superior Court website, some court documents (complaint, summons, motion to dismiss with or without prejudice) can be seen online. If the "no court records available for public viewing" notice comes up, what does this actually mean? This is apparently different from ppl who have never been in a lawsuit– "no records returned." That we have to see the documents in person? What could be the possible reason(s) this notice was posted. No, I am not a lawyer so sorry if this seems like a dopey question. Thanks. if a case has not been hear by a judge yet and still needs to be tried they will not let you view the records or evidance of the case
the freedom of information act forbids them from doing this but youll have to go to a courthouse and file a petition for the records under this act
