why have the court adjourned my case to get an up to date driving record?

i am being charged with letting my partner drive my vehicle with no license or insurance, i was under the impression she had a license and even got her put on my insurance as a provisional. she has recived £450 in fines n 6 points when she wants a license. i however have had my case adjourned and have been told that the reason is because they want an up to date record form the dvla. i have 3 points on my record for speeding which are due to come of in sep. what is gong to happen??
