is a misdemeanor and should not affect you being hired. depends on the company doing the hiring how they look at it.
No matter what state your in the freedom of information act ONLY gives the record contents, not the details. they do this because you are still entitled to PRIVACY!!. Anyone that obtains the DETAILED information about your case did so ILLEGALY unless your applying for a job with the United States Government, and will be handleing sentsitive information, the contents of your criminal record are protected by the privacy act. Now, the only other way that your criminal records can be viewed is if you catch a criminal case and the Court wants your criminal records for viewing. Last, is a waiver, or consent form. If you waive your right to privacy, or sign a consent THEN, someone else can see your criminal record.
It will probably just say disorderly conduct but it is obvious that this potential employer wants more information because he already knows all of the information that he is asking you to go and get.
Please try to come up with a story that is plausable yet honest as this will obviously have an effect on whether or not you get the job.
Maybe something to the effect of ‘I was trying to impress a girl and she was a chronic user of the drug’, after my arrest she dumped me for someone else and I learned a valuable lesson from both. although I regret the experience, I dont think I would change it (unless of course you dont give me this job) because it allowed me to develop my character more. It also opened my eyes to sliding down a path that is less than what I want for myself. I now only try to associate with people who will allow me to be true an authentic to myself. I will no longer try to change the core of my beliefs to impress a woman…or whatever, you get what I mean…
GOOD LUCK!
p.s. Please make it clear to your employer that you no longer use marijuana (and if this is true, volunteer to take a drug test) to soothe any fears that he might have with regards to having a druggie on his payroll!
